West Virginia Envirothon The West Virginia Envirothon is part of a national environmental program for high school students. An Environmental Olympics combining hands-on activities with skill development, mentoring, and natural resource education. The West Virginia Soil Conservation Agency, the Soil Conservation Districts, corporate partners, other state, and federal agencies sponsor the West Virginia Envirothon.

West Virginia Soil Conservation AgencyThrough the guidance of this agency and its partnership, resources are brought to local communities and land users to address a broad range of priority conservation issues. This cooperative, grass roots approach is proving to be an effective method for solving the natural resource management issues we face in West Virginia. The West Virginia Conservation Partnership is working with community leaders, local landowners and government agencies to build a productive State that exists in harmony with its environment.

Greenbrier River Watershed AssociationThe Greenbrier River should be saved as a legacy. It is an essential part of our lives that enriches and inspires us. The river watershed is a unique ecosystem with rich varieties of aquatic, riparian, and upland wildlife, tributaries, farmland, forests, people and communities. Our purpose is to promote the maintenance, preservation, protection, and restoration of the ecological integrity of the Greenbrier River and its watershed.

Office of Water ResourcesTo enhance and preserve the physical, chemical, and biological integrity of surface and ground waters, considering nature and the health, safety, recreational, and economic needs of humanity. The Office of Water Resources implements programs controlling surface water pollution caused by industrial and municipal discharges and oversees erosion control planning efforts. The Office of Water Resources also focuses on groundwater and wetlands protection and non-coal dams.
