New River Valley Coalition for Animal Rights and the Environment NRV-CARE works to raise awareness of the suffering and exploitation of animals in our society. Weactively engage multiple institutions to ensure that the rights of animals and their human supporters arerespected. We are a student organization at Virginia Tech that is not directly affiliated with any otheranimal rights group.
Richmond Animal Rights Network Based in Virginia, Richmond Animal Rights Network (RARN) was formed out of concern for the rising amount of animal abusethroughout the city of Richmond. RARN is dedicated to the promotion of animal rights and the elimination of cruelty to animals.We promote a vegan, cruelty-free alternative way of living. We are a grassroots collective organization that is run withouthierarchies. All of our members are volunteers and anyone that shares our beliefs can join.

Save The Bog Turtle Foundation The southern Appalachian Bog Turtle is the sacred animal of the indigenous people of seven SW Virginia counties, three of which are also the last hold out of the Appalachian Bog Turtle. Development in the Blue Ridge Mountains threatens the existence of this animal in Virginia. Just recently, the southern variety of Appalachian Bog Turtles has come under federal protection. Unfortunately. this protection may have come too late. We urge all Native Americans and environmentalist to help us to save this animal which is the heritage of all Americans, especially the people of the Ani-Stohini/Unami Nation, the tribe of Southwestern Virginia.
