Trees For Houston
Trees. Magnificent, majestic and absolutely essential to life and to the splendor of Houston's landscape. In an urban environment, they clean and cool the air, buffer sound and wind, offer animal habitats, shade and beautify our environment. Not to mention the support they bring to swings, hammocks, and chimes everywhere. All compelling reasons to give your support to Trees For Houston. Because today, for every four urban trees destroyed, only one is being replaced.

Earth First! Austin
Earth First! activist David Chain was killed Thursday, September 17, when a tree felled by a Pacific Lumber logging crew struck him in the head. Pacific Lumber has been cited for illegal logging at the site of his death, but the Humbolt County Sheriff's Dept. has not filed any charges against PL or the logger. Video tapes show the logger making threats to the activists before David's death. EF! is calling for an independent investigation based on the fact that the Humbolts County Sheriff is not a neutral party.
