The Missouri Environmental Education Association (MEEA) promotes and encourages education about the environment. MEEA is composed of individuals, institutions, organizations and business/industry with a common interest in enhancing education about the environment. MEEA works to develop an environmentally-literate citizenry inspired with a sense of personal responsibility to maintain a sustainable environment.
The Nature Conservancy
The Missouri Chapter of The Nature Conservancy is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the conservation of Missouri's native habitats such as prairies, woodlands, glades and fens. Our mission is to protect plants, animals and the natural communities that represent the diversity of life on Earth by protecting the lands, waters and processes they need to survive.

Missouri Environmental Fund
The Missouri Environmental Fund (MEF) is a federation of Missouri environmental organizations. Our mission is to raise awareness of our member groups programs and to raise funds for these programs by participating in workplace giving campaigns.

The Missouri Prairie Foundation
The Missouri Prairie Foundation voted to launch a major campaign this year to help save Prairie Chickens and all grasslands birds in Missouri.

St. Louis Regional Clean Air Partnership's (SLRCAP)

Missouri Recycling Association
The Missouri Recycling Association has recently signed a new associate membership contract with theNational Recycling Coalition. The new contract provides states with a stronger voice in shaping the NRCduring the coming years. To date, twenty-four states have signed the new membership contracts.

Missouri Public Interest Research Group
Since 1971, the Missouri Public Interest Research Group (MOPIRG) has been advocating for the public, taking on formidableopponents and often winning against great odds. Combining the expertise of a professional staff with the energy, political clout andfinancial support of our members, we work for a clean environment, strong consumer protections and democratic reforms.

Green Party of St. Louis
Green Wednesday meetings happen every 1st Wednesday at the Gateway Green Center. A variety of topics are discussed; all are welcome. Current issues include organizing the Missouri Resistance Against Genetic Engineering (MORAGE), organizing the Missouri Green Party, election-year Green candidacies, supporting other community actions, and continuing to build coalitions with labor and social justice organizations concerned with the World Trade Organization (WTO).

Citizens to Protect Forest Park
After years of meetings to develop a master plan for St. Louis's crown jewel, Forest Park, city officials have once again ignoredpublic concerns and brokered a back-room deal to allow the Art Museum to double the size of its building. Once again, environmentalists are circulating referendum petitions to place this give-away on the ballot. In 1992, 57% of cityvoters rejected a similar scheme to expand the Art Museum within the park.

Earth Angels
The Earth Angels are an inner city pre-teen environmental group of 150 "at risk" children helping our "at risk" world year around in any manner possible. I founded this group in January of 1987 and have directed it since then. Despite the age of their members ( 7 - 12 ), along with five 13 and 14 year olds who have stayed to help in the group, The Earth Angels are a genuine environmental group in every sense of the words.

EarthWays
Runs a renovated urban building as an environmentalism-in-action demonstration and educational center available for the entire community year-round. Many thousands of school children tour and work on lessons relating to the EarthWays Home annually.

Greenbelt Coalition of Mid-Missouri
The Greenbelt Coalition of Mid-Missouri is a not-for-profit organization which educates and encourages the understanding ofgreenbelts as a way to protect watersheds, control erosion and stormwater runoff, preserve ecosystems and landforms, develop anarea-wide trail system, and establish a natural corridor for wildlife.

Meramec River Recreation Association
Has brought together state and local government representatives, local citizens, adjacent landowners and business owners from the lower river valley to plan the preservation, enhancement and management of the 108-mile long Meramec River Greenway.

Open Space Council
Organizes Operation Clean Stream, the longest on-going river clean up in America. In 1994, 100 tons of trash were removed from 360 miles of waterways comprising major parts of the Meramec, Bourbeuse and Big Rivers and Huzzah and Courtois Creeks.

Scenic Missouri
Fights billboard blight and visual pollution along roadsides and byways. Helps communities establish their own signage zoning codes. Works to create more trees and better scenery in Missouri, primarily along roadways, improving air quality and visual quality for citizens Creates greater tourist appeal and economic opportunity for Missourians by reducing visual pollution along highways.

Sustainable St. Louis
Has developed, and is continually doing outreach to expand a broad-based community forum of people to promote the sustainability, or long-term cultural, economic, environmental, and social health of the greater St. Louis area and the surrounding region.
