Trash Force
The Trash Force is an all-volunteer organization that meets approximately every other weekend to pick up trash and recyclablesfrom parks, roadways, and other public areas in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. Our goal is to help raise the consciousness of the general public to the fact that we must all, as individuals, take personalresponsibility and action to help save our planet. We demonstrate our commitment to this goal in a very practical way, byattending to that which most of humanity ignores: trash, realizing that if people aren't willing to care for their immediatesurroundings, they will probably not be concerned with larger environmental issues that they feel, erroneously, do not affect them.

Compassion Over Killing
Compassion Over Killing (COK) is Washington, D.C.'s only grassroots animal rights organization. Founded in 1995, COK, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, believes in granting basic rights to sentient nonhuman animals and, therefore, in ending institutionalized animal exploitation. To this end, COK's main function lies in organizing public protests, educating consumers, and actively working to promote nonviolence toward all sentient beings.

Center for Environmental Citizenship
The Center for Environmental Citizenship is a national non-partisan 501(c)(3)organization. We were founded by young activists in 1992 to encourage college students to be environmental citizens. CEC is dedicated to educating, training, and organizing a diverse, national network of young leaders to protect the environment.

Clean Water Action
Clean Water Action is a national citizens' organization working for clean, safe and affordable water, prevention of health-threatening pollution, creation of environmentally-safe jobs and businesses, and empowerment of people to make democracy work.

Coast Alliance
The Coast Alliance is a non-profit organization, formed in 1979 by a number of groups and individuals concerned about the effects of unprecedented development pressure and pollution on the coasts. Coast Alliance was founded to increase public awareness of the coast's immense value, to bring new and important scientific facts about coastal ecology to public attention, to encourage groups across the country to work to protect valuable coastal resources, and to urge federal, state and local governments to strengthen policies and programs to protect coastal ecosystems and habitats.

Conservation International Foundation
CI focuses on trying to preserve and promote awareness about the world's most endangered biodiversity through scientific programs, local awareness campaigns, and economic initiatives. CI also works with multinational institutions, provides economic analyses for national leaders, and promotes "best practices" that allow for sustainable development.

Environmental Support Center
Since 1990, the Environmental Support Center (ESC) has assisted almost 1300 local, state and regional organizations workingon environmental issues. ESC's goal is to improve the environment in the United States by enhancing the health and well-beingof these organizations. Our Training and Organizational Assistance Program, Technology Resources Program , WorkplaceSolicitation Program, and new Environmental Loan Fund help these vital environmental groups become better managed, fundedand equipped.
